Couples Therapy: Rebuilding Connection and Emotional Safety
You’re not trying to hurt each other. You’re both trying to feel safe.
Relationships can start to feel painful when patterns take over. You may find yourselves having the same conversations, feeling misunderstood, or stuck in cycles where one of you reaches while the other pulls away.
Couples therapy is not about choosing sides. It is about understanding the deeper patterns shaping your connection.
Many of these patterns are rooted in attachment and early relational experiences. When something in the relationship feels threatening, the nervous system responds quickly. One partner may move toward connection, while the other moves toward space, creating cycles that are hard to shift without support.
In our work together, we slow things down and focus on emotional safety, nervous system awareness, and what it means to truly attune to one another.
This includes building empathy in action. Not just understanding your partner, but responding in ways that help them feel seen, supported, and emotionally held.
I work with both heterosexual and queer couples, creating a space that is affirming of diverse identities, relationship dynamics, and ways of relating.
As this work deepens, communication becomes more grounded, reactivity softens, and connection becomes more accessible.
I offer couples therapy in Fort Collins, Colorado and virtually across Colorado, supporting partners who want to move out of survival patterns and into more secure, connected relationships.
This work is especially helpful for couples navigating:
- recurring conflict or communication breakdowns
- emotional distance or disconnection
- attachment wounds or relational trauma
- life transitions or identity shifts
Couples therapy becomes a place to experience a different way of relating, with more clarity, safety, and space for both of you.
